Beautiful at any age

“Nature gives you the face you have at twenty; it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty.” –CocoChanel

I was at a friend's house last night for dinner. One of the other guests had gotten botox injections a few days earlier. I haven't really seriously considered having something like that done and I hope I continue to be content with the march of time as it makes itself evident on my body and face.

When I got home from dinner this was in my inbox. At 92, I think my mom has aged beautifully. My fingers are crossed that I do so with as much grace as she has.

  1. I agree whole heartedly!!! Your mother is beautiful!

I'm 50 and intend to age naturally. Those artificial faces are scary and fake... and scary!!!

Excellent quote. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I couldn't agree more. Your Mom is just lovely, and full of the life she she has so gracefully and graciously lived. Artificiality is only temporary and will fade and fall and fail with time. True beauty comes from within and shines in the eyes of the ones we love and who love us.

  4. I figure I've earned every single line. I am also working on embracing every single gray hair. I may wimp out and go back to the little dish of brunette demi color. But I am hopeful.

  5. After last week's post, I should probably do a little "full disclosure" and own up to the fact that I haven't seen my natural hair color since I was about 25.

    But that's different right? Right?

  8. Embrace your personal experiences...

    Your mother is beautiful!

If a woman chooses to alter her appearance, so be it...if not, so be it as well.

I decided many years ago to resist the temptation to dye my hair. My decision was strictly a personal choice as a very dark brunette. I did not want to have to be at the salon every 4-6 weeks for a "touch up".

  9. I agree with Kara. All the concern with the roots, whether dark or gray, is just too much bother for me. Although I do kind of see a witch in the mirror as my dark hair gets streaked with white!

Your Mom is beautiful and dignified. I certainly hope that she is enjoying her long life.
