Cranberry Sauce or Gravy?

Remember when we told you we were doing these cute kits with Soak Wash? Oh...I guess I forgot to post about it here. Well, better late than never....We're doing these cute kits with Soak Wash.

They include one skein of Solemate, our newest yarn, along with Heel, foot cream worthy of hand knit socks. As a little something special, we also tucked a mini-Soak in there for you.

The idea is to give your loved ones a fabulous grab-n-go for all their gift giving needs. All you need to do is put it on your wish list. We want to make it easy for them, right? Ahem.

They've been shipping to yarn stores everywhere using our fancy, high tech packing material.

They come in four colors/scents combinations. Beverly with Peppermint, Purple Club with Scentless, Zombie BBQ with Cucumber and Lincoln Park Zoo with Spearmint.

We even got Pamela Wynne, designer of February Lady, to help us put them together.

In the spirit of the season, Soak Wash and Lorna's Laces thought we'd do a little giveaway. Each of us will be giving away two kits. In the comments here, let us know whether you prefer cranberry sauce or gravy? Then head on over to the Soakworthy blog and check out the sweet things they have for you there.

We'll leave the contest open until midnight EST on Sunday and announce the winners here on Monday.

If you aren't one of our lucky winners, you can buy one for yourself or a loved one at your LYS or www.soakwash.com.

Cranberry sauce, times a million! I hate gravy - it's a bizarre congealed meat goo that has always grossed me out.

Definitely cranberry sauce! I make my own and it is delicious.

Happy Thanksgiving--this is a great giveaway!

Cranberry sauce all the way - gravy isn't very appealing for a vegetarian! :)

Cranberry sauce, without a doubt!

Cranberry sauce! Need some of that sweet n'tart to cut through all the turkey, stuffing and potato.

Ya know, neither of the parentals in my family like gravy, so the ONLY gravy I've ever had in my 34 years is the disgusting school-lunch gravy. So I have to say cranberry sauce for this one, but if someone made good gravy? Maybe...

Anonymous said...

I like gravy. But only my own flavorful gravy!

As a general rule, I really don't like sweet stuff on savory foods so as a condiment, cranberry sauce it out for me, but if you were to make from-scratch cranberry sauce, cover it with crumble and bake it golden brown on top, I'd love it for dessert.

I guess that makes my answer: gravy.

Mary said...

GRAVY! On everything! YUM. Happy Thanksgiving!

Nerdy Knitter said...

Cranberry sauce--I don't eat meat, so gravy isn't on the menu. But I'll say it loud & proud: I prefer canned cranberry sauce to homemade.

I'm a huuuge fan of cranberries. I love the sweet and tart, the color, and most of all, the health benefits for the body, particularly the kidneys. I can't get enough, mm. Don't get me wrong, gravy is heavenly but I gotta love me some cranberry.

Most definitely cranberry sauce that's made on the top of the stove with real fresh cranberries. Just made some in fresh unsweetened apple cider, (instead of water)a cinnamon stick, zest from an orange, and 1/2c of the splenda/sugar sweeter. It's fabulous!

Foret de Michelle said...

Cranberry sauce if it is whole berry and not the jelly kind. Though I like gravy too, especially on really dry food. :) But prefer the former.

Cranberry salad from an old family recipe and I'm the only one willing to make it too.

floribunda said...

Cranberry Sauce! I usually make my own with pears or apples... but I have to admit I love the jellied stuff in a can, too!

kristi said...

I was a vegetarian for a long time, but when I started eating poultry again, I decided I better dive in with both feet, so I roast a bird and make gravy almost every week. And then make soup or pot-pie with the leftovers. Bread and gravy is one of my most guilty pleasures. Takes me right back to being a kid.

But I love cranberry sauce too (the raw one with a whole orange is my husband's family favorite), and try to stock up on the berries now to have them throughout the year.

My real conundrum this year since I'm only cooking for four is mashed potatoes or stuffing? The kids will weep without the mashed potatoes, but since stuffing is really something you only make at Thanksgiving, I think I'll do potatoes for Thursday and bake stuffing on Friday to go with the leftovers. Mmm. Stuffing.

Sue Who Knits said...

Cranberry Sauce it is. First the color is deep and rich. It tastes good with everything, especially a left-over turkey sandwich. It can be very low in calories. It is seldom confused with something else. There are many more attributes, but I'll end with it plays well with others.

I hope this isn't cheating but I love cranberry sauce AND gravy. They are both necessary for full enjoyment of not only the meal but the leftovers too!

Meg t said...

Love 'em both at this time of year. But I have to go with gravy as that was my first Thanksgiving cooking job. It was my Mom's way of keeping my hands busy so that I didn't pick at the food.
