Jasmine Lace Cardigan

Here's a sweet little sweater that Stef just finished up for Will's niece. Will works over at Bean's and Bagels, our local coffee shop. (Well, it's almost finished, she still has to pick the buttons.) It's Jasmine, from Louisa Harding's Natural Knits for Babies and Moms.

I almost hesitated to post the picture because the yarn is a one of a kind colorway that Stefanie made up just for this project. The background of it is our 4ns Blackberry colorway, then she added some little specks of bright pink. You can see it in the close up. Or just click on the top picture to embiggen it.

I was wondering what you thought of it. Is this a technique we should consider doing for widespread distribution? It's fun for us to do. What do you think? The possibilities are endless....

On a more personal note, I just found out I'm going to have arthroscopic surgery on my right knee next Friday. I tore the meniscus. I have no idea how or when. It's part of the reason I've been quiet on the blog lately. My knee hurts and I'm fussy. But I feel bad about being fussy. I mean it's a 30 minute outpatient procedure for goodness sake, not cancer. It makes me feel kinda of bad for complaining.

I've been looking for the silver lining for this whole surgery thing and one hasn't popped up. I'll keep looking and let you all know as soon as I find it. And if you find it before I do, please be sure and send it over.

Wishing you well for the surgery. It's not fun when your body hurts. You have every right to be fussy. Hopefully this surgery will right everything and you'll be quickly on your way to feeling better.

Oh, just because other people have to go through worse doesn't mean you can't be a bit wussy and feel nervous about it!

Best of luck.

Recovery time is knitting time!

Fussy is okay. I found that physical therapy made me stronger than before - how's that for a silver lining? A reach... Take care.

I know that whenever I get sick or hurt it makes me so grateful for my health, which I usually take for granted. Right, it's not cancer, but it's still a big deal! And when you recover you will be so much more grateful (and less fussy!) for your health.

And that sweater is darling!

I think adding the specks of colour to an existing colourway is a winner. It would be great in socks!

What a darling sweater! Love the color! You take care of that knee--hope the recovery isn't too long (or painful).

Love the specks of color - adds a little surprise!
...wishing you a speedy recovery and back to feeling great again!!!

As far as the dyeing technique for mass distribution, I say it's a keeper! As far as the surgery, I wish you a speedy, pain free recovery.

Beth, I have had 5 arthroscopies on one knee....long story, but speaking from experience, it isn't bad and the sooner that you put weight on the knee, the faster you feel better...trust me! The incision is the size of a straw opening and isn't a burden...I am telling you, move your knee asap...bend as soon as you can....movement is good! Knit and walk! Good luck to you...make it a point to not be idle long enough to not finish a project!

Hope your knee heals up fast - I like the suggestion "knit and walk."

As for the dyeing technique, I love it and would love to see it in mass distribution!
