Cranberry Sauce or Gravy?

Remember when we told you we were doing these cute kits with Soak Wash? Oh...I guess I forgot to post about it here. Well, better late than never....We're doing these cute kits with Soak Wash.

They include one skein of Solemate, our newest yarn, along with Heel, foot cream worthy of hand knit socks. As a little something special, we also tucked a mini-Soak in there for you.

The idea is to give your loved ones a fabulous grab-n-go for all their gift giving needs. All you need to do is put it on your wish list. We want to make it easy for them, right? Ahem.

They've been shipping to yarn stores everywhere using our fancy, high tech packing material.

They come in four colors/scents combinations. Beverly with Peppermint, Purple Club with Scentless, Zombie BBQ with Cucumber and Lincoln Park Zoo with Spearmint.

We even got Pamela Wynne, designer of February Lady, to help us put them together.

In the spirit of the season, Soak Wash and Lorna's Laces thought we'd do a little giveaway. Each of us will be giving away two kits. In the comments here, let us know whether you prefer cranberry sauce or gravy? Then head on over to the Soakworthy blog and check out the sweet things they have for you there.

We'll leave the contest open until midnight EST on Sunday and announce the winners here on Monday.

If you aren't one of our lucky winners, you can buy one for yourself or a loved one at your LYS or www.soakwash.com.

Gotta go with cranberry sauce myself.

Why pick-- I love both my homemade gravy and my chardonnay cranberry sauce piled on my turkey and stuffing. Leftovers on a challah sandwich with both is heaven.

I definitely live gravy better. Never been a fan of cranberries except to look at. Love the color.

Cranberries. No gravy for the vegetarian! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Cranberry sauce for sure!

Gravy....if I had to choose! It's so versatile!

I like gravy better than cranberry sauce, even though the cranberry sauce is more visually appealing.

Michelle said...

Cranberry sauce! Because it tastes so good the next day on sandwiches - with leftover turkey, swiss cheese and cream cheese, of course!

Aimee said...

Gravy, it goes with so many things.

Cranberry sauce! I make the gravy because everyone else finds it necessay.Made cranberry chutney yesterday because everyone was tweeting about it and it was the bomb! All for me! Thanks for the chance

Cranberry.....a must for post Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches

Robin said...

Definitely gravy!!

Myriam said...

It would have to be gravy. Cranberry sauce just doesn't complement mashed potatoes and stuffing in the same way.

Cranberry Sauce!
I think? I have never actually tried gravy...I am an odd bird.

Jenny said...

Most definitely gravy! Nothing goes better on mashed potatoes than butter and gravy. Also how else can you stomach the in-laws extra dry turkey this year? ;)

I definitely prefer gravy - on the turkey, the dressing, and the mashed potatoes (but definitely not on the corn :-)

Those kits are beautiful!

Pour on the GRAVY!

Cranberry sauce! You can have gravy any old time!

I make both myself, so it's hard... but I have to go with gravy. Both are spicy and go great with turkey.

Neha R. said...

Gravy- I make it spicy and it tastes so good.

I am from New England, cranberry sauce all the way! It's so tangy and delicious :)

yarnsnob said...

Both, and they better be homemade, no cans or powder packets allowed.

Momyerom said...

Gravy if it's gluten free. Cranberry sauce if it's homemade.

LynnIL said...

Cranberry sauce, please. What a nice giveaway!

shellbelle said...

cranberry sauce - no contest!

Bogie said...

Hands down, gravy. Gravy on EVERYTHING but the pie.

Ron said...

Has to be Cranberry sauce, gravy is good, but good homemade cranberry sauce or even crappy canned, is better, goes with everything, ham, peanut butter, and next time for some fun, toss some dried cranberries in the stuffing. Just saying

Wolkenjägerin said...

Why not both?
I live in a country where they don't have a Thanksgiving like that, but I had turkey in my life and I love both!

But if you really twist my arm and insist - gravy! Homemade!

Kim said...

...why can't I have both?! At the same time! All over my turkey! I guess if I HAD to pick one I'd take the cranberry, but I'd be SAD. marusempai AT gmail DOT com

Would previously have said cranberry sauce, but had thanksgiving turkey without gravy this week and it made my brain break. Gravy FTW!

I'm a big fan of the whole party in your mouth thing. I usually take a goodly sized piece of turkey, put both cranberry sauce and stuffing on it and then put gravy on top and eat. However, if I had to chose I would say cranberry.

Coggie said...

Cranberry relish is my choice.

speck08 said...

Gravy!

Fiona said...

Both, of course! How can there be one without the other? How about cranberry sauce IN the gravy? Trust me, it's awesome!

Kate said...

I love gravy!

Jennifer M Remy said...

Cranberry Sauce! Nomnomnom... Plus, it can go on those leftover turkey sandwiches :)
Gravy just isn't right :(

Meg said...

What do I do if I don't like either? Can I vote for mashed potatoes? I apply those like a sauce on everything.

I do love the kits, though! The colorway names are great!

Definitely gravy!! Nothing says Thanksgiving better than a steamy, rich gravy to pour over the turkey, the dressing and the mashed potatoes. Gravy is the essential Thanksgiving condiment. I'm always suspicious of cranberry sauce. It's not very sauce-like, and it stays in the shape of the can. That's just wrong. Gravy all the way!

Cranberry sauce please! Homemade with orange zest.

I love cranberry, but I need gravy on my pots and dressing. Yum!

Since it's Saturday already I'm talking leftovers, open face hot turkey sandwich needs gravy, cold turkey sandwich needs cranberry sauce.

Cranberry sauce. Love it on my mashed potatoes. Can't stand gravy... but I do make a damn good gravy!

Brenda said...

Gravy... delicious made from meat bits gravy. Always...

Though I do like cranberry sauce, and I've been known to mix it all together in leftovers bowls of delicious. I love holiday food!

danielle said...

Not a gravy fan - definitely cranberry sauce! (and bread, and tea, and....) especially homemade! The only thing I like gravy on is the hot turkey sandwiches we have after Thansgiving (tonight!! yay!!)

Anne said...

Personally, I've got to go with gravy. I'm just not a fan of cranberry sauce. But, for those who like "the sauce", I make it from scratch every year. I just can't bring myself to serve it out of a can! YIKES!

My grandma's gravy from her famous rump roast. Of course I have to have potato dumplings with it. Nummy.
